How did I get started helping good writers become great?
It all started with one student—myself.
I
always loved writing and my teachers always told me I was a good
writer. But that wasn't enough to get my work published in the markets I
wanted to be published in. I started reading all the writing technique
books I could find.
I read, I learned, and most of all I
practiced and soon I was getting published. Weblog editors were writing
me and asking me to write articles for them.
Yes, there are many excellent writing technique courses out there. And I've watched most of them. I have combed through thousands of excellent writing advice, so now I can give you the best of the best. You won't find this combination along with my tested and proven writing techniques anywhere else.
If
you want to really succeed as a writer you need to get writing as
quickly as possible, and not get bogged down watching, no matter how
excellent a show it is.
Good
writers need to be able to try out what they are learning, right away
before the enthusiasm wears off. Many writing course are filled with
good writing advice. I feel that writers need a course they can write
with. A course that explains the important elements of writing and
breaks those elements down into small manageable steps.
I saw that
writers needed tips they could really use. And not just superficial
touch ups. In-depth understanding that would exponentially change the
way writers write.
So many e-books look like they were turned out
in a few weeks or even days. They probably were. The content is
superficial and incomplete. How much can one gain from books like that?
Good quality books take time to develop.
